Almost everyone wanted to be a school prefect back then in
school, it’s one of the greatest achievement everyone is aiming for, depending
on the type of school you attend
or the policy guiding the selection of
prefects in your school, some schools may pick at random, while some schools
with good reputation, school that knows the importance of selecting their
school prefects, they will set up a panel purposely for the selection of the
school prefect to show you how importance it is.
The work of the panel is to interview the senior students in
order to know the kind of post they can handle, other things the panel do is
also the check the background of the student they intend to elect as
prefects and also to check the academic
performance for the candidates. Today I am
going to list some vital reasons why everyone wants to be school prefects:

THE TAG
I don’t know of your school but I know that the prefect tag
is one of the coolest things I used to admire even before being a school
prefect. The tag is always customized with the prefects name boldly written on
it and sometimes the tag also contains the post or role given to that
particular prefect. It’s always cool working to school while putting on your
tag on your neatly washed and ironed school uniform.

NEW FRIENDS
Been a school prefect can be easily related or compared to a
celebrity, that because you will seem to have more friends than before. Sometimes
when you visit places where you think nobody knows you, you will be surprise to
hear someone shouting your name, some may not even know your name but they will
definitely know your face and your post.
3.
FREQUENT VISISTS AND EXCURSIONS
As a school prefect, you are already a candidate for
visitations and excursions outside the school premises. It’s always fun to go
for an excursion as a prefect because you don’t need to worry about
transportation, feeding or even accommodation as the school will provide all
that and even do more.
4.
CHANGE OF DRESSING CODE
Depending on your school, some school wants the entire
school prefect to be different from the other student in order to let passerby
know that these group of people are the prefect of the school. Another reason
why the prefects are meant to dress differently from other students is to
easily enable new intake student to easily identify the school prefects, in
order to contact them whenever you are having any kind of challenges.
5.
WAIVERS
Finally the last reason everyone wants to be a school
prefect is that as a student, you can easily get thousands of waivers. You don’t
have to do any morning duties, instead you will be the one to inspect and
supervise the morning duties, and you will get a lot of passes as a school
prefect.
